Imagine young-looking, wrinkle-free skin. Dr. Anitha Reddy, Medical Director of
M.D. Aesthetics & Wellness Institute in Tampa Florida, has found that the use of the filler Radiesse® may be the best treatment available to date. Previously, the only way to fill these wrinkles was with a lifetime of bovine (cow) collagen injections, which can cause allergic reactions, or solid implants that can look and feel unnatural. Radiesse® does not require allergy testing. Radiesse® is a product used for many years in prosthetic implants for dental, facial and orthopedic surgery. Radiesse® consists of calcium hydroxyapatite, which is a normal constituent of your bones and, therefore, should not cause inflammatory or immune reactions.
Dr. Reddy uses this filler for filling nasolabial (folds and lines in the face) to reduce signs of aging.
Is Radiesse Right for Me?
Radiesse is appropriate for patients with moderate to deep wrinkles and superficial scars. Patients who display volume loss in facial areas like the cheeks and temples are candidates for Radiesse. Ideal candidates are healthy individuals aging 30 to 60 years old. Candidates must have realistic expectations. Patients who do not want to undergo invasive cosmetic surgical procedures to reduce signs of facial aging are excellent candidates for Radiesse. Candidates must be committed to maintaining a healthy lifestyle for long-lasting results.
Your Consultation
During your consultation, we will listen to your cosmetic goals and examine your specific skin issues. We will look over your medical records, including allergies and past skin-rejuvenation treatments. Let us know which supplements and skincare products you are currently using. We will personalize a treatment plan based on your needs and goals. The consultation will also include instructions to prepare for the procedure. You can raise concerns at any point during the consultation.
The Procedure
Radiesse® treatments are performed in our office and takes about 30 minutes. Radiesse® is pre-loaded in syringes for use in treating and correcting your facial lines and other soft tissue defects. The procedure itself is simple. First we apply a little topical anesthetic. Then Radiesse® is injected into the wrinkle through a tiny needle placed just under your skin. Unlike other fillers, Radiesse® is not absorbed by the body. Therefore, we do not need to over-fill the wrinkle and your results are immediate.
Radiesse Aftercare
The patient can go home right after the Radiesse treatment session. They can perform normal activities immediately, including going back to work, since no recovery time will be needed. Patients may experience temporary bruising and swelling after treatment. The treated area must not be massaged to avoid spreading the Radiesse solution.
Results
Depending on the area treated, most corrections can last for several months. However, in the typical case, some touch-up treatments are necessary. The most positive factor in using Radiesse® is that patients don’t have to come back every three months and they still look great. If you want to get rid of your wrinkles with a safe, natural solution, Radiesse® may be for you.
The Cost of Radiesse Treatment
The cost of your Radiesse treatment session will depend on the amount of Radiesse used. The number of areas being treated can also impact the total cost of treatment.
I love this office. All of the girls including the doctor are super nice, made me feel comfortable, and had me laughing. It’s great to have fun while there.
